Last weekend I went biking down on the beach... Riding on the compacted sand was easier than I thought and the scenery was amazing. I really enjoyed the clean air, cool breeze, great views and peaceful sounds. I give this bike ride two thumbs up. Due to the flat sea level terrain, it is great for all skill levels. the hardest part of this trek was getting past the soft sand to the compacted sand.

I agree, riding bikes along the ocean shore at a beach is a great outdoor activity to do. The only drawback is you have to clean your bike and grease your chain back up after you are done because a bunch of sand and salt water makes your chain stick!

Beach riding is definitely a good workout though that you don't even notice. I don't remember being that exhausted at all during the ride, but afterwards my quads were heavy and my body was tired!

I absolutely hate riding in the sand here. I don't know how Oregons sand is, but here in Florida we have what people call sugar sand, which is a chore to walk through, let alone ride a bike in. :(

Yeah, I've been to the beaches in Florida. The sand was powdery at the beach, but as you got close to the water it becomes very compacted and easier to ride on.
