I love hiking at Mt. Rainier... you really almost need a guidebook for all the Hikes. My favorite place to hike up there has been at Paradise. I have taken some beginners up there and really been able to challenge myself too!
Top Hikes at Paradise:
Beginner Level:
1) Nisqually Vista - 1 hour - A quick overview of Paradise
2) High Lakes Loop - 2 hours - A loop of lakes and meadows... take your time... beautiful...
3) Upper Paradise Valley - 1 hour - small climb in beginning but well worth it... much more secluded!!!
Intermediate Level:
1) Alta Vista - 1 hour - quick and steep... views are amazing... also great for snow shoeing!
2) Paradise Glacier - 2.5 hours - a little crowded but what do you expect... you get to see an amazing glacier... awesome day hike!
3) Pinnacle Saddle - 2 hours - get there early and you can see a great view of Rainer in Reflection Lake
Hard - Panorama Point/Skyline Loop - 4 hours - ready to step it up... exercise the body and see the stuff post cards are made of!
Extreme - Camp Muir - 10 hours - elevation gain of almost 4700 ft. 9 miles roundtrip... experienced hikers even have difficulty... people have died... hike at your own risk!!!
