I personally like Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas. It has everything. It is fed from a river. The water is cold, Texas is hot and it is open most of the year due to the two seasons in Texas... hot and hotter! Another thing I love about this park is that you would never know it was there if you were driving through the area. It is tucked away in this small town in Texas and truely is one of the hidden treasures of Texas!

What is your favorite waterpark?

When I lived in the Bay Area of California I went to the Raging Waters water park and it was pretty fun. It was a lot better than the Wild Waves water park that is located in the Western Washington area. I also went to a water/theme park in Idaho called Silverwood a few years ago and that was a lot of fun too. I think I liked Silverwood the best because since it is way out in Idaho, it didn't seem as packed with people as the other two water parks were that I've been too.

The only ones I know about are Adventure Island in Tampa FL, and Weeki Wachee in Spring Hill FL.

Weeki Wachee has apparently gone downhill over the years. I went a couple of years ago with some old friends and their kids only to have them spending most of the time explaining to their kids how sometimes places change and that's why it wasn't as cool as they'd been telling them.

Adventure Island is always a blast though.
I made a bit of a mistake when I was about 20 or so that's kept me from going for awhile. I have a large tattoo of a topless woman on my back and the whole kids/parents/ride-lines/inappropriate-tattoo thing makes me uncomfortable.
One of these days I'll have to get a bikini top added to the tattoo. :D

I feel the same way about Wild Waves here in Washington as you do about Weeki Wachee. I used to love it as a child, but over the past 15 years or so, not much new has been added to it and I feel like it is not being kept up to date. Maybe it is just because Washington only gets about a month of really hot weather worth going to a water park anyway! ;)

That's a good point, doesn't it rain just about every day in Washington ?

Believe it or not, the waterparks in Florida actually do close for a few months out of the year. Occasionally "snow birds" visit here during the winter from up north expecting waterparks to be open year-round. I remember one guy who ended up going to the beach and joking about how he took showers colder than it was at the beach.

Taking a quick look around, it seems I'd be looking at $1,000+ and multiple visits to get it removed vs maybe $100 and one visit to get it modified.

I like the tattoo, just not the awkwardness that goes along with it in some places. I'd be fine with covering a little bit of her up. Besides, there's nothing like having a tattoo like this weighing in on your conscience when situations where jail time could be involved show their ugly head.

Now that I think about it a little more, I could probably look into getting a temporary henna cover up done a few days before I want to go to the water park. If there's one place where the common band-aid cover up doesn't work, it's a water park.

Wow!! I didn't know it would cost that much to get the tattoo removed. Very expensive, for sure. And I have read about the pain involved, too. Guess giving her a bikini top is better than doing nothing.... for the kids sake, after all.
