If you are a person that eats maybe 1 -3 larger meals a day rather than 5 - 6 smaller meals throughout the day, you might consider changing your eating habits. The benefits of eating 6 smaller meals a day rather than 3 larger meals include the following:

  • Faster metabolic rate
  • Higher energy levels
  • Less storage of body fat due to smaller portions
  • Reduced hunger and cravings
  • Steadier blood sugar and insulin levels
  • More calories usable for muscle growth
  • Better absorption and utilization of nutrients
  • Reduce bloating

I think I really feel my metabolism working fast when I eat 5 or 6 smaller meals thoughout the day rather than 2 or 3 bigger meals. Whenever I eat less, bigger meals I feel like my body stays in this full state extra long and it takes longer for my metabolism to break everything down.

When I eat more meals a day, I actually eat a less amount of food. I eat smaller portions because I do not scarf down my food. I feel a lot better about myself because my willpower is a lot stronger as well. When you eat more times a day, you can be more selective in what you eat without feeling like you are missing out because you know you will be eating again soon and can have your other cravings at the next setting... if it's even still there!
