http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/04/dinin ... .html?_r=2

It was a great read. It talks about life on the ranch and reasons why the ranch works. It also talks about food and the decline of the American kitchen as a major cause of our weight problems.

This is just a little bit of the article:

What lessons can be learned from the blood, sweat and tears that pour freely on the ranch? Simple: count your calories, exercise and learn to cook.

“Twenty minutes in the kitchen will save you three hours on the StairMaster” said Devin Alexander, a chef in Los Angeles who developed the recipes for the cookbooks. “You can’t trust restaurant food to be low fat.”

I really liked it. Please read it and tell me what you think about it!

Wow, what a great read. I really enjoyed the part about the decline of the American kitchen part. You know that a lot of the people who leave a workout program will gain weight back, but if we learn the underline causes of our weight gain, we should be able to keep a lot of it off. It think one of the best things they do on the ranch is teach them how to cook and what proper portions are.

This is a good article. I think one of the reasons why being on the ranch works, is because it does force them to cook for themselves and not eat out all of the time. The article talks about how a lot of the people on the show never knew how to cook for themselves prior and that is why their weight got out of hand. The ranch helped them learn how to eat right and cook better.
