Boredom can be very dangerous when it come to eating. You can overeat with anything... even carrots... even baby carrots. It is a good sign that you realize why you are eating... that is the first step!
One way to break a bad eating habit is substitution... instead of eating, try to take a stress ball to work or schedule in a 15-minute break in outlook to go for a walk... if for nothing else than to work off some of those snacks you have during the day.
One way I fight the urge to constantly snack throughout the day is that after I have a snack, I will brush my teeth or use mouth wash... this does two things: It gets the taste out of my mouth so that it is not there reminding me to have some more... but more importantly it makes the snack less tasty and less appealing! Try it... it works!!!
