Don't Confuse Thirst with Hunger

The reason some people eat is because their satiety (feeling satisfied) centers are begging for attention. But sometimes, those appetite centers want things to quench thirst, not to fill the stomach.

When you feel hungry, drink a glass or two of water first, to see if that's really what your body wants.

That's interesting. I will try that. I'm pretty sure it is food though!

I'm certain I'm hungry when I'm hungry, but only because I almost always have a drink near by. :D

Yeah, I was just giving Y's Guy a hard time!! I think for a lot of people who drink enough water through out the day, will know too, that they are hungry, and not thirsty.

I tried it... I found that when I got hungry, when I drank the full glass of water, I ate less. It may be that there just wasn't enough room for the food and water, but I got full a lot faster. I give this suggestion two thumbs up!

That's the trick my mother used to me when I was kid and overeating!

I believe so coz water distends your stomach too. When I was a kid, I remember my mother would let me drink water, juice or milk at intervals while I eat. She said it's to keep me hydrated coz I would always forget to drink. But as I grew up, I realized that it's to keep me from binging. I believe it's also a way that dietitians suggest to lose weight.
