I just read a simple way you could help save yourself from eating a good deal of fat if you love to eat chicken.

Quote:
Removing the skin from chicken saves you 5 grams of fat every time!

5 grams of fat... on each piece or on the whole chicken?

The source that I read it from didn't say, but I'm thinking it is per piece!

I never eat the skin on chicken!! The reason is I can't get the picture of raw chicken skin out of my mind. Take a really good look at raw chicken skin, it is sooooo gross, and all those little holes where the chicken feathers used to be just grosses me out.

Eeew! That picture looks gross!!!

It doesn't bother me about eating it though, because once it is cooked it looks and tastes completely different. A lot of things look gross before it is cooked!

Yeah, it looks completely different after it's cooked, and it sorta does taste good. But because I can't get that raw chicken skin picture out of my head, I just can't eat it. And I am glad too, because it's not good for you in the first place.

So what looks worse than raw chicken skin??

I've read about all kinds of reasons not to each chicken skin. From lowering your colesterol to lowering your risk of heart attack. I try not to eat the skin anymore, but depending on who cooked it, sometimes it's the best tasting part of the chicken...

The skin works well for seasoning chicken if you lift the skin and season under it, especially on the grill where it's really easy to dry the chicken out fast.

It all looks good to me... maybe it is just because I'll eat just about anything... sans peanut butter, or anything with mayo or ranch!

Fish guts are probably worse for you than chicken skin since they hold the toxins the fish hasn't expelled yet.

Which come to think of it begs the question, is fish skin (without scales) as bad for you as chicken skin ?

I think it might depend on where the fish is from... definately in the Gulf of Mexico it might be worse for you than chicken skin... think of all of the pollution in the water!

Do people eat fish skin??? ewwwww...

This topic is getting grosser by the posting. lol.

I never eat fish skin. I know people eat raw fish... sushi, not me though, I've never tried it, so I have never paid attention to the stuff to notice if it has the skin on it or not.
