The 23rd was also St George's day- the patron saint of England.
Do we have a public holiday? Do we hell as like.
St Patrick's day seems to be celebrated here more than St George's day, due to the fact that Guinness have managed to popularise it so much, and it's now an excuse to get p*ssed up, not that the Brits or Irish need much excuse to be honest.
I would have liked to have had a few pints of English beer to celebrate yesterday, but was at a winebar in town for a party to celebrate a mate's 40th, and the only beers were Czech Budweiser Budvar and Italian Peroni (Nastro Azuro), so that idea went down the drain...
