Merry Christmas folks!

And for the first time in years, we actually have snow on the ground on Christmas day!

My neighbor gave everyone in the apartment complex sugar-free pies for Christmas !

That's generous of your neighbor!! Was it good??

Lucky you! I can't remember the last time we had a white Christmas, unless frozen frost counts because that's what we had this year!

This is the first time in years here too. I think one or two parts of the country might have had a fall on christmas day, but not here.

As per usual, sub zero temperatures and snow brought half the country to a standstill. As heavy snow is a relatively rare thing here, authorities don't really invest in the infrastructure to get things moving. Roads have at times been impassable, the Eurostar stopped running for a few days, airports kept shutting, you name it.

At least I didn't get my car stuck in the snow on the way to work like I did in February!

On boxing day it started to melt, more yesterday, and apart from a few frozen patches, it's all gone now. I have a small motorbike that I've just rebuilt the engine on, and now it looks like I'll be able to get out there and start running it in.

We usually get some sort of big snow storm here in Washington State at least once every year, so snow isn't such a rare thing, it is just rare for our snow storms to ever fall on Christmas day!
