Is it healthy to eat the snack wraps at McDonald's when going out to eat or if you are already out and need something quick, but not so bad to eat? They don't seem like they are that bad, but what do you think?

Hi Sally,

I don't think the snack wraps at McDonald's are all that bad to eat. I looked up the nutrition information and for one grilled chicken, honey mustard snack wrap there is a total of 260 calories and 9 grams of fat.

An even healthier alternative at McDonald's is their McSalad Shaker Garden Salad. This had 90 calories and only 6 grams of fat.

All of the wraps are between having a hamburger or a cheeseburger nutrition-wise.

Here's McDonalds nutrition website. The wraps are in the "Nutrition Comparison" drop-down menu on the right under "Sandwiches".

I'd rather have a grilled chicken wrap than a cheeseburger myself.

That McDonald's website listing all of the sandwiches nutrition info helps a lot! Thanks! It is interesting to see that the wraps are not much different than eating a hamburger or cheeseburger! Even some of the salads are worse than having a cheeseburger -- the crispy chicken ones.

Some peoples rule of thumb for fast food chicken is that grilled is always better for you than crispy.

I'm not sure, but I suspect with the grilled chicken items most of the calories/etc come from the sauces they put on them. It might be worth looking into getting a wrap without the sauce on it.

Grilled chicken is better for you than crispy chicken because you don't have all that fattening batter all over the grilled chicken...
