Lately, I've been dying midway/70% through my workout/cardio session.

Just.. no more energy. Gone. Kaput.

Which means I suck at pre-workout feeding. And I've got a diet of about 1700-2000 a day.

Can anyone point me towards materials for proper pre-workout/during-workout feeding so that I can stop feeling like a floppy eel?

I can't seem to search for anything specified to that - and reading articles on BB.com is like watching television - bunch of opinions and nothing good on.

Cheers.

It is not a good idea to workout on a full stomach, but eating 1-4 hours before working out is a good idea as it will give you energy. Just try not to eat too much! I will list some suggestion foods to eat depending on hour many hours before your workout it will be.

1 hour or less before working out you can eat:
  • fresh fruit such as apples, watermelon, peaches, grapes, or oranges
  • energy gels
  • up to 1 1/2 cups of a sports drink

2 to 3 hours before working out you can eat:
  • fresh fruits
  • bread, bagels, pasta
  • yogurt

3 to 4 hours before working out you can eat:
  • fresh fruit
  • bread, bagels
  • pasta with tomato sauce
  • baked potatoes
  • energy bar
  • cereal with milk
  • yogurt
  • toast/bread with a bit of peanut butter, lean meat, or cheese

Hope this information helps!
