Post subject: Easy way to figure your ideal weight

There is a simple rule of thumb that you can use to determine your ideal body weight. It differs slightly depending on whether you are a woman or a man.
If you are a woman, begin with a base weight of 100 pounds for 5 feet of height. For each additional inch add 5 pounds. That is the ideal weight for an average body frame. So if your are 5'4" the ideal weight would be 120 pounds. For a small body frame, subtract 10 percent and for a large body frame, add 10 percent.
If you are a man, begin with a base weight of 106 pounds for 5 feet of height. For each additional inch add 6 pounds. So if you are 5'10" the ideal weight would be 166 pounds for a man. For a small body frame, subtract 10 percent and for a large body frame, add 10 percent.
