I am wondering what are some exercises that I can do to tighten up my arms and legs? I go in the gym and see a million different machines. I'm just looking for some ideas on what to do and I don't necessarily want to get big muscles, just tighten them up!

Hi Sally,

To tighten and tone your arms, stick with higher repetitions of 15-20. Some exercies you could do are:

  • barbell curls
  • tricep push downs

To firm and tighten your legs, again focus on higher reps of 15-20 per set. This will give you that sculpted look without adding too much mass to the area. Some exercises you could do are:

  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Hamstring curls

I have found that if you do a Bicep Curl/Shoulder Press Combo, that also is a good exercise to tighten up your arms.

Do 3 sets of 12-15 repetitions, until you feel fatigue.

Most gyms have abductor and adductor machine; these help with the inner and outer thigh. Be careful not to overdo on these machines though... walking the next day can be difficult... ease your way into it.

People who are trying to get rid of their bat wings  yes I went there.... anyways, the machine that works best for that is the Tricep extension machine and the Dip machine.

Those are four machines that will target muscles you don't commonly use as much in your day-to-day activities.

I hope that helps! Good Luck!
