I've read things about our core temps having an influence over whether we feel sleepy or not.
It seems like the hotter I am when sleeping, the more I dream. Any time I have a cold and a fever, I have wild vivid dreams that I almost always remember for days. But when I'm cold or just plain comfortable, I can't remember dreaming.
I'm wondering if there's some connection to our core temp and it's ability to regulate whether we're sleepy or not, and the mind being switched on to process information from our senses.
It would seem that the higher our temp is, the closer to being in full processing mode our brains would be. However since our eyes are closed the brain would default to processing existing images in our minds for that sense.
I wonder if lowering the temperature in someones bedroom a few degrees could be an effective treatment for nightmares while the person works out the things in their mind giving them the nightmares in the first place.
