Yeah, and there are more foods that help too:

High-fiber foods:

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Ground up flaxseeds
  • Beans
  • Whole grains in breads and cereals

And don't forget to drink water!!!

With the epsom/rochelle salt you are supposed to mix it with water and drink it. I read to drink one teaspoonful of the salt mixed in a half glass of water before bed. Guess it is pretty efficient. I've never tried it though.

I wonder if salt is salt... you know what I mean?? ... they say we eat too much sodium everyday which can lead to high blood pressure. So I wonder if epsom or rochelle salt would be the same as table salt... adding to the sodium we already consume in a days time and adding to our risk of getting high blood pressure.

I'm not entirely sure if Epsom salt contains sodium or not, but I'm thinking it doesn't. I read that it contains magnesium sulfate, whereas table salt contains sodium chloride, thus the sodium in table salt. If Epsom salt doesn't contain any sodium chloride then I don't think it has sodium.

Epsom salt is a very potent Saline laxative... do not take it if you are not going to be close to a bathroom for 4-6 hours... It is more potent that ex-lax... speaking from personal experience! It draws water from your body into your bowels and flushes it all out in a mater of seconds!!!
