If you have a cold and are interested in shortening the life of it, try this.

Place a dry towel over your head and stand over a steaming tea kettle. Be careful not to burn yourself. Inhale the steam from the kettle deeply for several minutes. By doing this every 2 hours it is likely to help loosen up your chest, liquefy your cough, and make you feel more comfortable.
