When I painted houses I had to pressure wash them before I could paint them. Even after the washing was done, I still had to clean brushes and airless sprayers using a water hose.
I had terrible problems with sweaty, wet, and stinky feet.
I tried getting pretty much every type of shoe suggested to me, from genuine leather to shoes with air vents in them. Same problem. I've tried changing my socks multiple times throughout the day like they teach you in the Military (never been, I just pay attention), but when pressure washing it doesn't help to have dry socks if your shoes are soaked.
I tried rain boots, but they reduce mobility to the point where being on a tile roof where it can get pretty slippery with the algae that grows up there can be dangerous. Flexible ankles are important when on an incline like that.
I may be getting back into painting roofs on the weekends this summer and I think I will just face the music and bring 2-3 pairs of shoes and socks with me. I figure that for what I was spending on "good" shoes I can get a few pairs of "decent" shoes and just change them like the Military does their socks throughout the day.
