Ways to avoid sunburn for the summertime
There are many ways to enjoy the sunshine of summer without damaging your skin. Some of the ways are listed below.

  • Try to avoid reflections from water, glass, and sand
  • Always apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher 15 minutes before going outside. Then don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours and/or after you go swimming and if you sweat a lot.
  • Know you medications – some acne treatments and birth control pills can increase your sensitivity to the sun
  • Don’t forget that you can still get a sunburn on a cloudy day.

I was watching the TV show The Doctors, and they asked the audience the question about how long before you must reapply sunscreen, and most of the audience answered every 2 hours. The correct answer was 80 minutes. And of course, sunscreen must be applied more often than 80 minutes if sweating, and must be applied immediately after swimming.

I like that TV show, The Doctors. I've watched it a few times and found out some useful information each time. I didn't see the one abut sun screen though.

I'd suggest going with every 60 minutes instead of 80 minutes. Once an hour is much easier to keep track of than one hour and 20 minutes, especially when you've got the sun beating you down. :)

I agree. An hour is an easier measurement to keep track of!
