I just recently started getting serious about working out and I have noticed a change that I wanted your opinions on!

I want to eat everything under the sun when I get done exercising! If I workout more, am I always going to want to eat more? It seems like a self defeating situation almost.

Hi Junior,

I'm not sure how you make that feeling of being super hungry go away, but it should get better if you be strong and don't give in. How are your eating habits the rest of the day? Maybe it has something to do with that. Are you eating throughout the day?

You are naturally going to be more hungry if you are working out more... that is a good thing... that means your metabolism is speeding up. I have felt the same way too! I have also found that I can eat healthier foods to subdue my hunger and leave the bad stuff alone more because I am getting more hungry! Take those super hungry opportunities to try new healthy foods... where before vegatable soup wasn't that appealing, in your new state or hungryman... you might rank it a 7 instead of a 3 on the taste scale! If it is still not that appealing to you you will only eat until you're not hungry as opposed to until you're stuffed!

Also a tip I learned, eating within 45 minutes of finishing your workout will help you burn more fat, because you are in the fatburning window! Usually you have a window of about 45 minutes after a good cardio workout in which your metabolism in going at warp speed... use it!

The hunger has subsided for me now on regular days, but on the days where I really push myself, I still feel like I could eat a horse! I love that feeling... I know I am using the fuel I put in my body... it really motivates me to eat better too because I don't want to waste the workout... It all begins to feed off each other and creates a focus for me. I hope you keep it up and experience the feelings not as negative... but positive... that you are on the Journey to Health!

I have been trying to eat the healthier foods when I am hungrier, it has been working. Something I don't even like, but I ate it because I was hungry. It is helping me figure out that I eat more for flavor than for hunger. When I eat food that doesn't tasting appealing to me I eat a lot less. Now if I can just eat that amount of the stuff I love to eat. It is in my head now I just have to convince my mind.
