So I reached out to a few friends and got myself a new job that doesn't involve sitting behind a computer all of the time, and actually getting out more. In the past, I've eaten a lot of crap for lunch at work every day. Luckily the buddy I've been working with lately, and from the looks of it everyone else in the office we meet at in the mornings, brings in salads/etc from home for lunch so it's been easy for me to follow suit. :D

I got myself one of these coolers because it has a dry compartment on top. It works great. I use ice packs instead of ice cubes so it doesn't fill with water.

I slice a hoagie in half, plastic wrap it, then slide it into the dry compartment along with a couple of granola bars. Every few days I cut up some romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, and fresh jalapeƱo pepper then portion that out with turkey breast into plastic tubs that I put in the bottom of my fridge so I can just toss one in my box with cold packs in the morning and leave. I also include an apple if I remember. I don't like making a sandwich in the morning (don't want soggy bread), I've got the portions in the plastic tubs in a way that I can just flip the tub over on my bread and BAM, instant sammich. I put a little Italian dressing in an old small butter tub to pour over the vegetables.

I'll probably pickup some cucumbers and a few other things this weekend and whip up a whole week's worth at a time. :D

You know all the electronic systems you see in buildings and home, such as fire alarms, remote door locks, video surveillance, automated lighting, home theater, etc? I install and service that stuff. It's right up my alley, gets me out and active, and it's all about working smart rather than hard.

It has me eating a LOT healthier too. I've been eating turkey sammiches FULL of vegetables with Italian dressing instead of mayo/etc, granola bars, apples, grapes, and water for lunch every day. :D

that sounds great! I work in an office where SO many of my co-workers go out to eat for lunch, and I just sit back and shake my head while I eat my packed lunch of leftovers from the night before. For one, how EXPENSIVE! For two, the calories just add up so quickly when you're going out to eat!
keep up the good work!
