Eating Late at Night
Question:
If you eat late at night, do you think these calories will automatically turn into body fat?

Answer:
The time of day isn't what affects how your body uses calories. It's the overall number of calories you eat and the calories you burn over the course of 24 hours that affects your weight.

I've always read that eating less than 2 hours before you go to bed is not good for you because you are then not active for the next 10 hours. But then I think it depends on what you are eating... there are certain foods, such as sweets and fatty foods that probably are not best eaten before bed.

The way I understand it is... say you can have 2000 calories a day, and by 10 or 11 pm if all you have had is 1700, you can eat 300 more calories at that time of the night and not gain any weight from it because you haven't gone over your calorie intake for that day.

Yeah, but it is always not just about numbers and figures. If you ate those 300 calories earlier in the day, you would have more time to be active and work it off. The closer you eat to bedtime, the calories aren't used for energy and therefore have more potential to be stored as fat.
