Grapefruit Warning
People who are on statins such as Lipitor (a drug used to treat high cholesterol), anxiety medications such as Valium, and some antihypertensive drugs, should know that grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interfere with the absorption and metabolism of these drugs, making more of the medication enter your bloodstream, just like the equivalent of taking a higher dose.

I would think that doctors tell their patients this information, and I would think there is a warning on the prescription bottle. But just incase you don't know, now you do.

That's interesting how grapefruit can make more of the medicine enter your bloodstream. Good to know!

I know, it's kinda weird how grapefruit can do that. Grapefruit has a lot of vitamin C in it. So it's good for us. But not for people who are on certain medications.
