I see these all of the time on the backs and sides of food products, but I really never knew an exact definition of what they are. Can anyone help? Thanks.

% Daily Values (%DVs) are based on the Daily Value recommendations for a 2,000 calorie diet. Daily Values tell you if a food is high or low in a nutrient. Look for lower numbers in the first group of calories, saturated (bad) fat, and sodium. For key nutrients such as fiber, calcium, and vitamin D, 10% is considered a good source.

Always remember, this is just a guide. Your daily values may be higher or lower depending on your calorie needs.

I hope this helps!
