Protein powders claim to boost immunity and build muscle, but just remember that most protein powders have 100 to 150 calories "a serving" and gives you 30 to 60 percent of the 45 to 65 grams of protein you need each day.
Excess protein can lead to kidney problems.
Foods like turkey, eggs, and cheese are all good sources of protein, so why bother with the protein powders, they don't taste that great anyway. Few of us need protein powders, but adding a scoop to yogurt or a smoothie can help you feel full longer. Just watch your protein intake.
