I think that is a big difference between guys and girls... we get it all out... especially when we have a couple cold ones. If they're still talking that just means they're really good friends!

Guys hold a lot of stuff back, that's why we have sports like boxing where we wear gloves, and when we fight we have silly rules like nobody can jump in because it's mano-e-mano or if I tap your arm it means I quit. We're just happy if we can twist the other guys neck enough to knock him out so we don't have to fight anymore.

Girls on the other hand, let it all out. Girls don't want to quit until they're completely exhausted. A girl could get knocked out and the one who knocked her out will pick her up by the hair and wake her up so she can keep beating on her.

I'd bet my last dollar that all of the psycho guy fighters that have ever been around are mommas boys. lol

Have anymore long bike ride adventures, Joebert? Is summer a good time to bike ride in Florida or not?

I rode roughly 15-18 miles one day last week. I started off just going for a ride around the neighborhood, then I got on the Pinellas Trail which is basically just an old railroad line that was replaced with a paved bike trail, and a buddy called and I ended up riding a good ways talking to them.

By the time I got off the phone I was about a city block away from US19 and maybe 10 minutes away from the movie theatre. So, I figured I would go see The Hangover.

Well, I got to the theater 30 minutes after the movie started, and the next showing wasn't for 2 hours so I went to the Publix to get a drink and some cash back from my card in case I ended up taking the bus home. The busses here have racks on the front that you can put your bike in, which is beyond awesome. :D

Then I remembered a buddy of mine that I've known since like Kindergarded, but haven't seen in a few years, told me he's staying right off US19 in the condos behind the old gentlemens club about 12 miles or so south of where I was when I talked to him on Facebook. So, I called him up but they'd just sat down to eat dinner so I told him I'd call him back later on.

So, I ended up riding down US19 heading towards the bus stop thinking about just jumping on the bus and heading down that way anyways. I hate waiting for the bus though, and it was Saturday I think which meant the busses were running on a strange schedule anyway, so I ended up just riding the 12 or so miles down that way.

I made it in about an hour, hour and a half I think. I stopped to get another drink, then rode to the top of the rail overpass that's right down the road from the gentlemens club and took a break to drink my drink. I think it was a fruit punch powerade. I don't know why I got it, I really don't like fruit punch. Especially when I'm trying to quench a tired thirst.

Just as I started to ride down the other side of the overpass my buddy called me back. It just so happened that his, err, I guess fiance but I'm not sure, I feel kinda bad asking because I'm not sure if she's the same woman he was with last time I saw him lol, anyway it was her highschool reunion and they were heading down to one of the local bars. So, meeting up with them was out of the question, I didn't want to intrude for one, and I don't even go to my own highschool reunions let alone someone elses for a school I never even went to. Though, it doesn't sound like it would be fun to pretend I went to the school and see how many people I could dupe. lol

So, after a total of 15 or so miles I rode around a little to see what was happening in the old neighborhood. Not much had changed by the looks of things.

I called a few people I haven't seen in awhile up. Everyone was sleeping and ended up calling me back the next day when I was sleeping. lol

So, I rode up to the bus stop and ended up taking the 19 north up to my road. Oddly enough it takes about as long to ride the bus as it does a bike for that trip. By the time I got up to my road the last bus that goes by my appartment had just left maybe 5 minutes earlier.

So I went inside the Target and got some batteries for my clocks. I've got clocks in the living room and bathroom that had been dead for maybe two weeks before then, the one in the bathroom drove me nuts because I look at it when I wake up all blurry eyed and forget that it was dead.

Then I rode from Target back home, stopping at Checkers to get a couple Bacon Chedder Crunch burgers on the way because I've wanted to try them.

Once again, my butt was killing me. So, since my seat was getting ready to all apart anyway, I decided to get a new seat a few days ago. Best seat I ever had this new one is. It's got shock absorbers in the back, it's really wide, has plenty of padding, and a hole in the middle with vents for air to flow up.

I'm kinda looking forward to riding a good distance on it. :D

Sure. Just be sure to bring drink money, or one of those backpacks with thermal insulation to keep your water cold.

Though, if you're not in the city like I am where there's convenient stores every few blocks, the backpack is probably a better option than the money. :)

I love the camel packs for long hikes! I haven't tried it on a bike ride before... I never thought about it... but it makes so much sense now. I will definitely grab my pack the next time!

I went fishing last night. It's not a very long trip, but there's a bridge that's not fun to ride up on the way.
It's the bridge pictured on top of the Clearwater Site.
That bridge is the worst part of the whole bike ride, I've taken the bus a few times just to get over that bridge and ride the rest of the way instead of transfering.

Anyway, I usually make it maybe half-way up that bridge then I have to walk the rest of the way. Not this time, I made it all the way up. I'm happy. :D

Oh, and I got to fight 3 snook with a completely outmatched rig, I was pretty much guaranteed not to land a snook with this pole considering the fish are about 30+ inches and 10lbs VS my light 6lb test pole, but they're fun to fight for awhile. :D

That's great! It is always good to outdo one's own self. I love when I improve on things. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. :)

I took a look at this site and browsed through the Clearwater photos. It looks so nice there. It looks like a great place to go on all sorts of long bike riding adventures!

In case anyone is wondering I still make short trips on my bike lately, but since hurricane season is creeping up and we've been having a lot of sudden freak thunder storms lately I've been a little leery about going very far.

In FL, especially around this time, it can be sunny out one minute then thundering and pouring down buckets of rain the next. I have no problem with riding in the rain, it's actually easier to make it long distances in the rain for me, but I do have a problem with thunder and lightning. Especially after seeing the story of the cyclist struck by lightning on the news not long ago. :)

So it said on that news video that she has a 50 percent chance now to get struck by lightening again. Does that mean that after a person gets struck by lightening once, their chances are higher to get struck by lightening again then a person who has never been struck by lightening?

We just had a storm like that over here in Washington yesterday! One minute it was calm and even sorta sunny and the next minute is was raining, thundering & lightening, and pooring down buckets of hail like crazy! I felt like I was in a waterfall when I was driving to the gym! Before you knew it, the storm was over and it was super calm again.

I'm guessing they figure if someone's dumb enough to put themselves in a position to be struck by lightning in the first place, there's about a 50/50 chance they'll be dumb enough to do it again. There's statistics, and then there's human nature.

It's frustrating, yet at the same time, kinda cool, isn't it ? :D

Yeah, it was kinda cool since it doesn't happen over here much, but I know what you mean about being out in what you thought was a nice calm day riding the bike and then it turning into that!

When I got to the gym, the storm was it its' worst and I didn't feel like waiting in my car for the hail to stop. I got out and went in the gym and those little hail nuggets hurt! I was able to find a parking spot in the first row and had a short walk in, but by the time I got in the doors, my shirt was soaking wet and I felt like I had just got out of the shower!
