I wasn't paying attention when I clocked myself. But later in the night after everyone'd had a few too many drinks I got the bright idea to start at the same time as the person in the lane next to me and trying to throw my ball half-way down the lane and land it in their lane to knock down all of their pins with my ball before theirs made it to the pins. I succeeded a few times. I heard a buddy of mine from elementary school say "freakin retard strength" more than once so I'm guessing the answer is yes. lol

You were making the ball jump over to the other lane? I would think the bowling alley staff wouldn't like that so much... ? Were you doing that to people that you knew in the next lane or to strangers?

I can't remember the last time I played a game of tug of war, except with my dog. :) It was probably way back in middle school! Is tug of war popular over there in England?

It's not hugely popular on a properly organised level, but there are two separate governing associations, and a fair number of teams. There's also a world association. There are weight categories, and strict rules on rope thickness and length, types of footwear, etc.

It gets played at rural fairs and the like quite a lot - we're hoping to join in the competitions organised by one of the associations, all proper stuff. We've just got to find enough victims, er... I mean volunteers!

It's quite possibly the most intense workout I've ever had.

Yup... Tug o' War not to popular over here in the States... however, dodgeball is making a comeback. I played in an adult dodgeball game with my girlfriend and her best friend and husband... they split us up on teams and I did really well against everyone except my girlfriend and her friend kept hitting me on the foot... and I couldn't throw the ball hard at her because then I would be walking home!
