I've been playing some tennis lately. I've been playing doubles and singles. It doesn't feel like exercises when I am playing, but afterwards and/or the next day I can really feel the muscles that I used. Even when I exercise on a regular basis and feel like I am in shape, if I haven't played tennis in a while and then go play, I am still sore the next day. Tennis uses all kinds of muscles that you don't really use when working on in a gym on a treadmill or lifting weights.

If you are looking for something active to do outside, without it feeling like strenuous exercise, give tennis a try! Playing tennis on a regular basis can help maintain or improve balance, mobility, agility, strength and fitness. It also helps burn calories.

Anybody else play tennis?

I just started playing tennis. I think doubles is the way to go to start off playing. I feel competitive when some of my weaknesses like not being able to hit an overhand shot can be covered up by a partner standing behind me when I wiff! :haha: Funny, but so true.

It takes a lot of balls to play tennis, I think I spend more time gathering tennis balls from the area around the tennis court than I do playing during blue moons when I play. :whistle:

I think I'm getting better at this tennis stuff... instead of getting beat 6 - 0 I am getting beat 6 - 1 and 6 -2... pretty soon I will be getting beat 6 - 4... I can't wait!

it's true that tennis really is a sport the uses all amount of energy ... it burns a lot of it when playing a complete set. I might give tennis a try as my exercise :D

With tennis you really get a great workout and it doesn't even feel like a workout because it is a lot of fun!
