My name is Nick and I am currently on the track to making a healthier me. I had such success with the very simple things I did to change my life around that I even started writing a blog about it. Naturally, I've been looking for great resources to add to my site and stumbled upon here. Looking forward to sifting through all the copious amounts of info on here. Anyways, I'm Nick(obviously) from Indiana and I started to really turn things around about a year ago. I started slowly by just going to the gym every now and again, but after I met some people, I really started getting into it and I really am a different me now. Just took some perseverance really, I had all the tools at my disposal. Anyways, thats me and I can't wait to read more.

Hi Nick,

Welcome to Healthy Pals! I'm glad you found us and have already found success. May I ask for you to share with us some of the simple things that you did to change your life? Also, what in your life needed to be changed?

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Mainly, it was just cutting out some unnecessary free time and getting motivated enough to go to the gym and eat a little healthier. I started making sure I was getting enough sleep every night at bare minimum and tried to exercise 3-4 times a week. I started feeling better almost immediately and I've been slowly shedding pounds since. I decided to try and motivate others as well with my blog so here I am. Ready to learn more about making good choices and I stumbled upon the site and started reading immediately.

The question a lot of people probably want to know is how did you motivate yourself to cut out that extra free time and turn it into going to the gym?

Hehe, this isn't going to help anyone, but sadly it was anger. Without going into a lot of detail, I started getting so angry that I felt I needed to do something about it and tried exercising as a way to vent. Turns out that I ended up liking it and it did indeed help with my anger.

Hey Nick,

Good for you! I too know what it's like to change your life through exercise. All too often we only see ourselves from day to day and don't see that the changes we make are really life altering. It wasn't until I looked at pictures that I said wow... I can barely recognize myself. I think people don't stay motivated because they don't see the small changes they are making... all to often we look for instant gratification, and outside of feeling better, we don't see a lot of changes until we look back at old pics... mirrors lie :)

When you said you met people at the gym... how did you do it?
