Hi Tammy,
Thanks for the welcome. The weather here in England? Yuck! lol. It' raining so hard it's almost spiteful! I just walked 4 miles to work (yes, silly aren't I), as part of my keep fit regime. I do this 6 times a week, whatever the weather ... apart from thunder and lightening ... and it really has helped me keep fit.
Yes, I was born and raised in England, in the Midlands, about 30 miles away from Birmingham. I have never been to Washington, but I came over to New York last May for a couple of days, and I absolutely loved it! Everybody was so friendly, and I went a trip to the Bronx to round it all up. Had a few dizzy problems going up to the Top of the Rock though!
The outdoor activities are okay over here, but the weather holds us back a lot. I mean ... it's supposed to be our summertime! Your olympic team is going to be based in Birmingham I think I heard on the news! Far, far better than in London, believe me!
One of my bucket list items is a common one I think, I'm doing a skydive with the Red Devils parachute team on September 2nd near where I live, and I'm kinda scared but kinda looking forward to it to. It should be a huge adrenaline boost! Bit late to start these things, but hey ... who cares!
I did'nt fly on a plane until four years ago, when I was 48, but I went to Majorca and loved every minute of it, so last year I also flew to a friend in Hong Kong new territories, and apart from the mozzies, loved that too! That was on my bucket list.
I'd love to go storm chasing ... that's my biggest bucket item, but we cant do it over here, so I would have to come over to the USA to do that.
Sorry, I'm going on a bit! My short term aim is to get down to nine stone (I'm 9 1/2 atm) before I do my skydive, so I figure if I eat good stuff and not much fatty food, keep up the walking, I should do that in 6 weeks.
Will say bye for now, have to get working!
Cheers
Jill
