Trust me Terri when I say, I know what you mean about the yo-yoing effect of weight loss. I guess one of the main things that helped me that might help you is determining what your ultimate goal is. Think about it for a while.
For the longest time I just made short term goals... most of them were focused around weight loss. I would have a goal to lose 20 lbs. Sometimes I would not make it... other times I would and then stop and find myself 25 lbs. heavier next month.
It wasn't until I made long term goals that I was able to get to where I wanted to be. I used short term goals to chart my progress towards the long term goals... and once I figured out what I wanted to be most of all... it helped my willpower to say no to the things that did not fit in with my long term goals, like feeling like if I workout hard I can eat a lot... does that make sense?
Unless being able to eat whatever you want is your long term goal... which wouldn't be totally unappealing
Take some time and think about what you want most of all... picture yourself the way you want to be and start by writing it down...own it... what is it???
