I want to build up strength in my muscles in my arms. What are some good exercises I can do? I have a set of 6 pound weights I can handle.

There are lots that you can do!

First I would start with dumbbell curls. Hold a dumbbell in each hand down by your side. While alternating arms, curl the weight up to your chest. Continue alternating arms until you feel a burn. If you do this exercise until you feel a burn it will help you build muscle and tone up.

You can also do lateral raises. Hold a dumbbell in each hand. Start with your arms by your side, raise both arms together and out to the side like shown in this photo. Continue this movement for 10-15 reps.

One last exercise you can do is tricep extensions. Start with holding both dumbbells like shown in this photo and then extend both arms straight up in the air over your head. Also do this exercise until you feel the burn.

Thanks so much. Love the photos...helps me know exactly how to do the exercises.

So after I feel the burn, do I quit until the next day, or do I do more that same day?

Do about 3 sets of each exercise all in a row. So after you feel the burn on the curls, wait about a minute and then do it again, then wait about a minute and do it one final time. Do the same thing for the next two exercises. Then you can wait a day or two and do it all over again.
