The Wii is fun for adults too!: Fun Exercise

I just got finished at a Retirement Community where we had a Wii video game bowling tournament. It was so much fun to see the chronologically gifted residents play like they were in there 20's again. I picked up the game for my new job and it was probably the best use of my money. I teach classes and get good turnouts but I couldn't reach some people and the Wii did! People will play for an hour... it's not vigorous, but it is active and entertaining and getting them to come back for more! Has anyone out there played the Wii sports and Wii fit? I give it two thumbs up... I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

I haven't had an opportunity to try it or play it yet, but I really want to try it! My friend actually has a Wii, next time I go over there, I'm definitely going to give it a try!

I broke a sweat playing baseball on the Wii the first time I got to try it.
Bowling was fun too, as was tennis, but we just couldn't put the baseball down.

I haven't got to play the Tennis one yet... I think I will try that next! We got the Wii Fit and in the balance games there is a Slalom Skiing... I highly recommend that one!

I haven't seen that one... just slalom skiing and the ski jump; but just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not out there.

There is a snowboarding Wii game! It looks fun! I just found the Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip game online... Here are some features of the game:

Lets you do everything you would at the mountain
Four areas to explore: Alaska, Park City, Europe, Japan
Perform different tricks on the ground, in the air, or on rails
Ride down the slopes, create new paths in the back country, or do tricks in the terrain park

That looks sweet... I think the seniors at my new job may not go for it though; I would... but not them. I think they think the skiing is fun and the snow boarding is a young kids sport.

I'm curious... what Wii games do you have the older people doing? Besides the skiing one?

They love bowling and golf!

They will do the Wii fit balance games which include table tilt, soccer heading, tightrope walking and a few others on the Wii fit that I can't remember right off hand.

We broke down this weekend and bought a Wii, and the Wii Fit (I wanted that one), and also the Wii Play (which we haven't played with yet).

I think I've finally found the way to motivate my husband to exercise! Like last night, for instance, he said he was going to bed, but then he told me he was joking, and headed into the living room...where we played with the Wii for over an hour! Bowling, tennis, baseball...but the best one I've seen was him on the Fit trying to do the Tree Pose in the Yoga section! I laughed so hard that I think I got a better workout than he did! :haha:

That's great and such a good idea for guys to get! The Wii is definitely a good way to motivate people to get in a workout! I keep hearing about the Wii and how much fun it is, but I still have yet the opportunity to play it! I want to try it out so bad now! What is your favorite game so far?

Personally, I'm a big fan of the bowling on the Wii Sports, and the step aerobics on the Wii Fit.

I haven't played the Wii Fit yet, but I found this article about it. I guess it's not getting all good reviews! Here is a little bit taken from the article:
