I have found that when I workout with a buddy, it makes working out so much more fun! Not only is it more fun, but I also feel like I am way more accomplished and get more done! When my buddy can't make it and I have to workout alone, I've noticed that I try to rush through everything --- this makes working out less effective and way less fun! Find a buddy, it helps!

I feel the same way! The support and the knowledge that you are not alone wanting to workout will keep you motivated. And some friendly competition won't hurt either!

Plus working out and being able to chat with your buddy can make the time go by quickly, and it's so much more fun that you may actually forget you're even exercising!

Working out with a friend (or friends) is always a good way to have fun while getting in shape! It definitely makes the time go by faster!

I agree but I have had a couple bad experiences with workout buddies either pulling me down or being too over-the-top and me not being able to keep up...

How do you pick out your workout buddy?

Do you think having your significant other being your workout buddy or do you think it should be someone else?

You should probably pick a work out buddy that is at your same level exercise wise. Unless you you feel like you need someone to push you harder than you do on your own, then you should get a work out buddy who is just above your level.

I started working out with a friend a couple years ago who was not quite up to my level of working out. I'd run 2 miles and she'd only run 1. I'd want to do 30 minutes on the eliptical, and she'd have to stop after 20 minutes. But only after a few weeks of working out together she was doing what I was doing! Today, she is pushing me! When I want to stop at 20 mintues, she's ready to go all the way to 30 minutes and that makes me go to 30 too! I've noticed when she's not there to push me, I slack off. I love working out with a buddy!

Working out with a buddy is a great idea cause you dont get bored you have someone to talk to and its very encouraging to have a buddy while working out.
