 Post subject: How should I exercise to compensate for my injury?

I recently rolled my ankle playing a pick up game in basketball. I am in pretty good shape right now and don't want to lose any of it. It is a pretty good sprain and I was told not to put much pressure on it for a week or two. Are they any ways I can exercise and keep my stamina up during this injury?

I once tore my ACL in college (playing basketball) and I was out for the entire season. Even with a torn ACL before I got the surgery to fix it, the doctors had me ride the bike to try to keep my muscles strong. I think with almost any injury the bike is a good way to keep getting good workouts in. If the bike is too much for your ankle, swimming is another good alternative!

I rolled my ankle really bad once and I couldn't even swim. Most gyms have a hand bike for people to get there cardio when they can't use their legs.
