If you have any pains or injuries or even issues with your breathing, the steam room can help! I' ve been going in the steam room at the YMCA lately to help with my cough that I've had for the past 3 weeks now. I'm still trying to get over Bronchitis and the cough is the worst part. After going in the steam room it feels great and I'm able to take in deep breaths without the urge to cough. I also notice that my body feels more relaxed and my muscles aren't as tight anymore. In the past I always thought I would prefer the sauna over the steam room, but now I'm finding out that I think I like the steam room better. After sitting in it for about 15 minutes I come out more sweaty than I do for the same 15 mintues sitting in the suana.
