Vitamin D has the following physiological functions:
1, to raise the body's calcium and phosphorus absorption, so that plasma levels of calcium and plasma phosphorus saturation level.
2, promote growth and bone calcification, the promotion of healthy teeth;
3, through the intestinal wall to increase the absorption of phosphorus and by increasing renal tubular reabsorption of phosphorus;
4, maintaining a normal blood levels of citrate;
5, to prevent the loss of amino acids through the kidneys

I heard that everyone who lives north of the line that runs between Los Angeles and Atlanta in the United States is not getting enough vitamin D and that Low vitamin D increases the risk for infections (including the common cold). So people above that line need to take a supplement!

Vitamin D makes bones and immune system strong,
Vitamin D prevents from osteomalacia,
Vitamin D provides calcium balance in the body,
Vitamin D regulates blood pressure,
Vitamin D reduces stress and tension,
Fish, cod liver oil, milk, and eggs are great source of vitamin D.
